Establish an online presence |
When you first login to the site you will need to complete your user profile. To do so, click the Your Page
link and then click the Your Profile link. This page allows you to supply information about yourself, change
your user name, choose an avatar, define your buddy list and buddy preferences, and set your default privacy settings.
Your Personal Information
The following table defines the information on your profile page.

Definition |

Login Count |
Displays the number of times you have logged into the site. |
|
Full Name |
Enter your full name, such as "James Tiberious Kirk". If you do not enter a nick name for yourself,
then this is the name that will be displayed to everyone on the site. *Required. |

User Name |
Defines your user name that you use to login to the site. When you are first invited to the site, the
site generates a user name for you. You can change it; however, it must be unique within the system. *Required. |
|
Email Address |
Enter the email address that you want to use for the site. The site will send email to the address when
applicable. *Required. |
|
Nickname |
If supplied, the site will display this name instead of your full name on all content that you create. Optional. |
|
Gender |
Select male or female. The site uses this to determine whether or not to display the word "he" or "she" in certain situations. |
|
Birthday |
Your birthday is optional and is only displayed on your profile page. |
|
Location |
The area of the world in which you live is optional and is only displayed on your profile page. |
|
Personalized Text |
Optional text that you can enter to be displayed underneath your avatar. It is usually a simple
message that you want to say to everyone, such as "have a nice day". |

Signature |
Optional text that you can enter to be displayed underneath any content that you enter, such as a blog posting. |
|
Photo Page Message |
Optional text that will be displayed on your photo page. You can also change this text on your photo page by clicking
on the text, entering the message, and clicking the Save button. |
